The Jackpine Group of Companies is ISO (International Standards Organization) certified for environmental and quality systems. Certification for quality is undertaken through a standard called ISO 9001. This standard involves supervisors and management developing a company wide system that will ensure that Jackpine delivers quality services and products at all levels, from the time lumber is ordered through the processing at our facilities, to the time it arrives on the doorstep of our customers. Certification for environmental management is achieved through ISO 14001. This ensures all of our operations take place with minimal impact on the environment. This standard focuses on everything from fuel handling in the yard to glue handling in the facilities.
At present, the JEWP facility has been certified in ISO 9001 and 14001, with plans to have the JFP facility be certified in 2008. This will enable us to deliver the quality, environmentally friendly products and services that our customers demand. It is our belief that our ability to do so through ISO will give us a sustainable competitive advantage in the marketplace.
